New to the Funding Database
- The 2026–2027 Call for Applications under the Habitat Stewardship Program is now open. The HSP provides funding to help Canadians contribute to the recovery of species at risk listed under the Species at Risk Act or designated by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada.
- Expression of Interest (EOI) deadline: October 15, 2025.
- Application deadline: November 13, 2025.
- Natural Resources Canada will launch a new Buildings Call – Prefabrication Design Challenge and Demonstration Prize under the Energy Innovation Program in Winter 2026. The program will:
- Support innovation in offsite and prefabricated construction methods
- Accelerate the pace of housing supply across Canada
- Advance energy efficiency, building performance, and affordability
- New funding opportunities added to the database:
- CanExport Community Investments: Supports Canadian communities in attracting, retaining and expanding foreign direct investment. Funding covers up to 50% of eligible costs, from $3,000 to $500,000 per project. Deadline: January 5–30, 2026 (for 2026–27 projects).
- AMANS Equity, Anti-racism and Accessibility Grant: Up to $1,500 per municipality or village to implement action items from approved Equity, Anti-Racism and Accessibility Plans. First-come, first-served until program funds are allocated.
- Assess and Retrofit stream of the Green Freight Program is open. Deadline: Continuous Intake.
- CLIMAtlantic Webinar Series - Letting Nature Lead: Prioritizing Nature in Climate Adaptation (remaining 2 of 3):
- Museums Assistance Program is open. The following funding streams are accepting applications:
- Exhibition Circulation Fund – Deadline: Continuous intake.
- Access to Heritage – Deadline: November 3, 2025.
- Indigenous Heritage – Deadline: November 3, 2025.
- Collections Management – Deadline: November 3, 2025.
- Age-Friendly Communities Grant Program is open. Deadline November 3, 2025.
- New funding opportunities added to the database:
- Canadian Agricultural Strategic Priorities Program: Funding for sector-wide agri-food projects. Municipalities eligible; up to $1M per project; typical 50/50 cost-share. Deadline: Continuous intake until March 31, 2029.
- Commemorate Canada: Funding for national-scope anniversaries (25/50/75/100+ years) that are free, public and educational. Municipalities eligible. Deadline: October 1, 2025.
- Community Network Grant (2025–26): Up to $40,000 for community projects that challenge hate and reduce barriers. Municipalities cannot apply as leads but may participate through eligible partners. Deadline: October 31, 2025.

- Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program – Projects: The Anti-Hate Call is now open. Municipalities and community partners can apply for project funding that supports anti-racism, diversity and intercultural understanding.

- Cyber Security Cooperation Program – New to the Database! Provides time-limited grants to strengthen Canada’s cyber resilience, including municipal cyber-security projects.
- Deadline: September 25, 2025
- Powering the Future: Solid-State Hydrogen Storage for Military Platforms – New to the Database! Competitive funding challenge through Defence IDEaS to develop safe and efficient hydrogen storage technologies. Municipalities are eligible but best positioned through partnerships with local research institutions or companies.
- Deadline: October 22, 2025
- Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund (CHIF) – Coming Soon! A new 10-year federal-provincial funding agreement with $171 million in federal support for Nova Scotia. CHIF will fund housing and enabling infrastructure such as water and wastewater systems.
- Federal share: up to 40%
- Provincial share: up to 33.33%
- Notably, CHIF allows 100% federal stacking, unlike previous programs.
- Launch expected early 2026.
